For anyone who is interested, I’ve installed WordPress on my host server to trial the system , and see if I like it enough to move away from MT. Already I find it much quicker and simpler to set up, it doesn’t really require rebuilds and has a much more useful interface…but will it win me over for functions and usability in the long tun?
