Just an addendum that yesterday morning, the strongest quake to hit Tokyo for a while struck at 7:22am (news here). At 6.1, just off the coast of Chiba prefecture over the bay, it rocked our apartment building, making the fixtures squeak and swinging the lights quite heavily (including the infamous mini-chandelier). Nothing was damaged, but I had a narrow escape as I was just about to start shaving!
